The Palais is one of Nottingham’s most iconic nightlife venues, with a history spanning over 100 years. First opening in April 1925 as the Palais de Danse, the venue was originally built as a grand dance hall and billiard saloon, widely regarded at the time as one of the finest entertainment venues outside London.

Since reinventing itself as a nightclub in the late 1980s, The Palais has become a central hub of Nottingham’s nightlife culture, welcoming generations of clubbers through its doors. The venue has hosted an eclectic mix of club nights, live events and touring acts, cementing its place as a landmark destination in the city.

With its large-capacity main room, historic character and energetic dancefloor atmosphere, The Palais continues to provide a unique setting for promoters looking to create unforgettable large-scale nightlife events.

Ballroom

Located on the ground floor, The Palais’ Ballroom is the centre of the venue. It features a stage with video screens behind, and a balcony that wraps all the way around the room. The Ballroom has three bars and multiple toilets, and leads directly off the main entrance where the reception desks and cloakroom are situated. The venue has step-free access and an accessible toilet.

Disco

The Disco room at The Palais has a very retro style, and can operate as a separate club space entirely, with its own entrance, reception, cloakroom and toilets. It can also link well with the Ballroom as a second room for larger events, with access from the main foyer and through the Ballroom itself.

Lounge

Capacity: 250

The Lounge is a smaller space, perfect for starting off larger nights in the Main Hall or using as a second or third room. It has its own bar, lots of seating, and a fixed DJ booth. The Lounge can only be hired in addition to Main Hall events.
