Bar Supervisor

The Palais is part of DHP Family, one of the UK's most exciting and creative entertainment
companies. Since 1925, the venue has been a Nottingham landmark: a place for music fans,
clubbers and live audiences to come together, from themed club nights to legendary artists
including The Clash and Thin Lizzy.
We are looking for a confident Bar Supervisor to help lead our front-of-house operation across
busy club nights, live shows and private events.
About The Role
As Bar Supervisor, you will play a key role in the smooth and efficient running of our bars,
cloakroom and reception areas. Working closely with the venue management team, you will lead
by example, support the team on shift, and make sure customers receive a safe, friendly and
well-run experience from arrival to last orders.
Key Responsibilities
- Supervise bar staff during shifts, making sure service standards and venue procedures are followed.
- Lead and motivate the bar team in a fast-paced nightlife environment.
- Oversee cloakroom and reception areas, helping customers move through the venue smoothly.
- Maintain a safe, welcoming and inclusive environment for customers and staff.
- Complete cashing up, till reconciliations and accurate shift records.
- Support stock control, including line checks, stock rotation and waste management.
- Plan staff breaks around service so the bars remain properly covered.
- Keep service areas clean, organised and presented to venue standards.
- Uphold licensing laws, health and safety requirements, and venue policies.
- Help train, mentor and support bar and front-of-house team members.
- Resolve customer issues where possible, escalating to management when needed.
- Support the wider venue operation across club nights, live shows and private events.
What We're Looking For
- Experience in a bar, venue, events or hospitality environment.
- A calm, practical approach to busy service periods.
- Confidence leading a team and setting the standard on shift.
- Good communication skills and a positive attitude with customers and colleagues.
- An understanding of licensing, safety and responsible service.
- Flexibility to work evenings, weekends and late nights.
